“Holographic Blood” Author Dr. Harvey Bigelsen Awaits Court Ruling

Dr. Harvey Bigelsen, author of the paradigm setting book, “Holographic Blood, a New Dimension in Medicine” and “Doctors are More Harmful Than Germs”, a book critical of the cut and drug approach of government approved medicine is still awaiting a ruling from the Superior Court of Nevada City California on spurious charges levied against him and against his son, Josh after an illegal sting operation and subsequent raid at the Biological Health Institute on March 20, 2014. In yet another unexpected delay, Superior Court Judge Candice Heidelberger, citing the loss of a document by the Courts and the need for more time to analyze the multiple briefs filed in the case, will rule at a hearing at 9 a.m. on November 25th barring the written release of her ruling prior to that date.

Sixty supporters of Dr. Bigelsen packed the tiny courtroom on November 13th expecting dismissal of all charges against the Bigelsens and the return of property confiscated during the illegal raid.

Supporters voiced their confidence that Judge Heidelberger would be fair in her assessment of the unlawful sting and the raid as violations of Dr. Bigelsen’s Fourth Amendment rights. This latest delay comes sadly as the Bigelsens are packing up their office and taking down the artwork painted for them by so many grateful and loving clients. After eight months of lawyers’ fees, Court costs and the inability to reopen their business, without a conviction of any wrongdoing, the Biological Health Institute is no more.

Dr. B, as he is affectionately known, has worked tirelessly to understand the connection between what can be seen in live blood and its reflection of the individual person. Live blood is a “snapshot” of the condition of one’s health. I have, like so many others, felt my life and energy restored by applying the lessons learned from the blood.

Dr. Bigelsen’s discoveries and his advancements over the work of his predecessors in the study of live blood constitute an understanding of our living energetic systems that is unprecedented in Western medicine. Dr. Bigelsen had begun sharing his knowledge, teaching the next generation of homeopathic practitioners how to understand the holographic nature of our blood and how it applies to us as individuals, the last classes being taught only months before the unlawful raid and confiscation of his microscopes by the State of California.

The charges against Dr. Bigelsen and his son Josh Bigelsen were instigated by a local allopathic dentist who had never been a client of the Bigelsens’ and had taken exception to Dr. Bigelsen’s outspoken advocacy for homeopathic care.

Dr. Bigelsen had been the target of retaliatory persecution years ago for his authorship of the Arizona Homeopathic laws. In the determined efforts to stop Dr. Bigelsen from his advocacy and practice of homeopathic medicine, what amounted to a Medicare sting operation was launched against him, going primarily after the cases of an associate in Dr. Bigelsen’s office. By the end of the persecution, Dr. Bigelsen was cleared of all but minor infractions, amounting to a plea bargain of $145 but was still being threatened with further action unless he voluntarily surrendered his license. There was no viable option, except to comply.

Working under the legal auspices of another physician and advising his clients that his own medical license had been surrendered, Dr. Bigelsen returned to his work, giving life changing assistance to countless people, many of whom had previously gone to allopathic medical doctors and were frustrated by the lack of effective diagnosis and treatment offered by standard medicine.

GMO corn plantings lead to death of 37 million bees in Canada

Tens of millions of bees near Ontario, Canada, have dropped dead following a recent planting of genetically modified (GM) corn. David Schuit, a beekeeper in Elmwood, reportedly lost 600 hives containing some 37 million bees, the direct result, say scientists, of neonicotinoid pesticides that damage bees' immune systems and navigation abilities, resulting in mass die-offs.

According to Ontario's The Post, the bees died just days after GM corn seeds were planted in the vicinity. The crops were sprayed with so-called "neonics" produced by Bayer CropScience Inc. that have already been banned in the European Union for harming beneficial pollinators. But in North America, neonics are still permitted because of heavy influence from the chemical industry.

"Once the corn started to get planted our bees died by the millions," stated Schuit to reporters, lamenting the serious losses to his Saugeen Honey operation.

Another local grower by the name of Nathan Carey, a member of the National Farmers Union, says he has observed major bee losses on his own farm in recent weeks. Affirming the latest science on the subject, Carey believes that neonics are directly responsible for the bee losses occurring not only in Ontario but around the world.

"I feel like we all have something at stake with this issue," he told The Post, announcing plans to organize a public workshop and panel discussion about the topic.

Earlier in the year, Gary Kenny's farm, also in the region, lost 80 percent of its hives immediately following the spring planting of GM corn. Like Schuit, Kenny's business took a huge hit as a result, while the purveyor of this genocide continues to peddle its poison without consequence.

3 natural pain relievers that are as powerful as drugs, without the side effects

Unfortunately, acute or chronic pain is something that everyone in their life experiences at one time or another. Even though this is a powerful reminder from the body that something is either healing or going terribly wrong, a way to manage the pain is often required in order to live a functional lifestyle.

The first resort to manage this type of pain has typically been prescriptions or over the counter drugs. These medications do have side effects, however, and people are beginning to realize there are more natural solutions that can be as effective or more powerful than drugs. Here are 3 of them.

Often called Indian Frankincense, boswellia originates in the dry areas of India, Africa, and the Mediterranean. It is a remarkable plant and is becoming better known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation is the root of chronic pain. The unique acids (boswellic acids) block the overproduction of cytokinetic activity in damaged tissues while enhancing blood flow to the joints. This combination has also been shown to increase joint mobility and loosen stiff joints.

Boswellia has shown great success at reducing inflammatory conditions such as Crohn's, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ulcerative colitis, and other painful conditions. Many studies have shown that it is as effective as NSAID's, which are the most commonly prescribed drug for issues related to inflammation and chronic pain.

Another powerful anti-inflammatory food with exceptional pain relief properties, turmeric is an ancient spice commonly used in Indian and Asian cuisine. Turmeric has shown to work better than many other pain-killing drugs at relieving arthritis, joint pain, stiffness, muscle spasms, and other chronic pain conditions.

A natural painkiller and COX-2 inhibitor, turmeric has been shown to be a safe and effective remedy due to its ability to not only stop inflammation, but to suppress nerve related pain as well. This makes it exceptional for those who suffer from fibromyalgia.

Mark Twain’s Top 9 Tips For Living A Kick-Ass Life

You may know Mark Twain for some of his very popular books like Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. He was a writer and also a humorist, satirist and lecturer.

Twain is known for his many – and often funny – quotes. Here are a few of my favorite tips from him.

1. Approve of yourself.

“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.”

If you don’t approve of yourself, of your behaviour and actions then you’ll probably walk around most of the day with a sort of uncomfortable feeling. If you, on the other hand, approve of yourself then you tend to become relaxed and gain inner freedom to do more of what you really want.

This can, in a related way, be a big obstacle in personal growth. You may have all the right tools to grow in some way but you feel an inner resistance. You can’t get there.

What you may be bumping into there are success barriers. You are putting up barriers in your own mind of what you may or may not deserve. Or barriers that tell you what you are capable of. They might tell you that you aren’t really that kind of person that could this thing that you’re attempting.

Or if you make some headway in the direction you want to go you may start to sabotage for yourself. To keep yourself in a place that is familiar for you.

So you need give yourself approval and allow yourself to be who you want to be. Not look for the approval from others. But from yourself. To dissolve that inner barrier or let go of that self-sabotaging tendency. This is no easy task and it can take time.

2. Your limitations may just be in your mind.

“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.”

So many limitations are mostly in our minds. We may for instance think that people will disapprove because we are too tall, too old or balding. But these things mostly matter when you think they matter. Because you become self-conscious and worried about what people may think.

And people pick up on that and may react in negative ways. Or you may interpret anything they do as a negative reaction because you are so fearful of a bad reaction and so focused inward on yourself.

If you, on the other hand, don’t mind then people tend to not mind that much either. And if you don’t mind then you won’t let that part of yourself become a self-imposed roadblock in your life.

It is, for instance, seldom too late to do what you want to do.

Dr. Ellen Langer | Counterclockwise: Can We Reverse Aging by Changing How We Think?

Sanitas is censorship-and commercial-free and survives on your voluntary subscriptions only.

Thank you for helping us declassify the secrets to health and longevity and focus on mind, body and spirit. ~ Mel Fabregas.

S Y N O P S I S

If we could turn back the clock psychologically, could we also turn it back physically? For more than thirty years, award-winning social psychologist Ellen Langer has studied this provocative question, and now, in Counterclockwise, she presents the answer: Opening our minds to what’s possible, instead of presuming impossibility, can lead to better health–at any age. Drawing on landmark work in the field and her own body of colorful and highly original experiments–including the first detailed discussion of her “counterclockwise” study, in which elderly men lived for a week as though it was 1959 and showed dramatic improvements in their hearing, memory, dexterity, appetite, and general well-being–Langer shows that the magic of rejuvenation and ongoing good health lies in being aware of the ways we mindlessly react to social and cultural cues. Examining the hidden decisions and vocabulary that shape the medical world (“chronic” versus “acute,” “cure” versus “remission”), the powerful physical effects of placebos, and the intricate but often defeatist ways we define our physical health, Langer challenges the idea that the limits we assume and impose on ourselves are real. With only subtle shifts in our thinking, in our language, and in our expectations, she tells us, we can begin to change the ingrained behaviors that sap health, optimism, and vitality from our lives. Improved vision, younger appearance, weight loss, and increased longevity are just four of the results that Langer has demonstrated.

B I O

Dr. Ellen Langer, Ph.D., is a social psychologist and the first female professor to gain tenure in the Psychology Department at Harvard University. She is the author of eleven books and more than two hundred research articles written for general and academic readers on mindfulness for over 35 years. Her best selling books include Mindfulness; The Power of Mindful Learning; On Becoming an Artist: Reinventing Yourself Through Mindful Creativity; and Counterclockwise: Mindful Health and the Power of Possibility. Her most recent book, the Wiley Mindfulness Handbook, is an anthology on mindfulness in which leading researchers integrate work derived from her western scientific theoretical base of mindfulness with research on eastern derived forms of meditation. It will be published in early 2014.

Dr. Langer has been described as the “mother of mindfulness” and has written extensively on the illusion of control, mindful aging, stress, decision-making, and health. Among other honors, she is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and three Distinguished Scientist Awards, the World Congress Award, the NYU Alumni Achievement Award, and the Staats award for Unifying Psychology.

The citation for the APA distinguished contributions award reads, in part, “…her pioneering work revealed the profound effects of increasing mindful behavior…and offers new hope to millions whose problems were previously seen as unalterable and inevitable. Ellen Langer has demonstrated repeatedly how our limits are of our own making.”

Dr. Langer has been a guest speaker all over the world, including Japan, Malaysia, Germany, Australia, Mexico, Switzerland, Argentina and China.

She lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Bleach, hand sanitizer could cause Ebola to be transmitted through skin

The Ebola narrative has now come full circle with scientists from the Institute of Medicine (IoM) hinting that it might be possible for the hemorrhagic disease to transfer directly through the skin. Thomas Ksiarek from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) says viral skin penetration has not been officially dismissed as a possible mode of transmission, and that liquids like bleach and hand sanitizer could increase this transmission risk.

Speaking before a workshop at the National Academy, a panel of scientists vocalized concerns about Ebola's capacity to absorb into skin. Ksiarek, a hemorrhagic fever expert who helped co-lead a workshop session on Ebola's transmission routes, explained that science has not ruled out skin absorption as one such route. And since both hand sanitizer and bleach tend to make the skin more absorbent, the use of these products to thwart Ebola could make a person more susceptible to the disease.

"Does bleach or hand sanitizer make the skin more susceptible" to being penetrated by Ebola? This is one of the many questions "that has to be asked," in Ksiarek's opinion.

Ebola may still spread without symptoms, says infectious disease doctor
The federal government still maintains that Ebola is only transmissible when an infected person starts "showing symptoms." But this dubious prerequisite is likely also a misnomer, as so-called "subclinical transmission" is still a possibility, according to Dr. Andrew Pavia, chief of pediatric infectious diseases at the University of Utah.

In his view, science has failed to establish a definitive threshold for when an infected person actually becomes infectious to others. It is also unknown whether the mode of transmission, and which bodily fluids are involved, makes any difference in the amount of time between initial exposure and the development of symptoms

Drinking processed cow's milk causes early death

The idea that consuming calcium-containing milk products is required to sustain healthy bones is quickly fading, as new research continues to unravel one of the food market's biggest myths.

Extensive reporting by Natural News reveals that humans are the only mammals to continue drinking milk past infancy, and that there are actually other sources of nutrition more sufficient for building healthy bones.

A recent study published in The BMJ adds to that theory, suggesting that milk consumption doesn't prevent fractures that are often linked to osteoporosis, a condition involving brittle bones that affects 40 million Americans.

More than 200 million people suffer worldwide from osteoporosis, with the majority of them being women over 60. The most concentrated cases exist in Europe, North America and Japan, all of which consume a significant amount of dairy.

Researchers from Sweden, one of the countries that consume the most dairy per capita, examined the lifestyles and diets of more than 100,000 Swedes dating back as far as 1987 and tracking them until their death, or until Dec. 31, 2010.

The results showed that drinking milk did not reduce bone fractures, and those who drank the most milk where likely to die younger than their counterparts

The data used to reach this conclusion were based on two previous studies, including diet surveys answered by more than 61,000 women between 1987 and 1990. Among them, less than 40,000 of them filled out a more detailed diet survey in 1997. Diet questionnaires completed by more than 45,000 Swedish men were also analyzed, confirms the LA Times.

Not only did the study's results dispel the myth that drinking milk helps prevent bone fractures, but the more milk women drank, the more fractures they had.

More than 17,000 women suffered from some type of fracture, with more than 4,000 of them being hip fractures. The women who drank at least three glasses of milk per day were 16 percent more likely to break a bone, and 60 percent of the avid milk drinkers were more likely to have a hip fracture.

Maintaining proper magnesium levels lower diabetes risk by 37%

Sufficient magnesium intake may help deter the onset of diabetes, particularly in those exhibiting precursor symptoms, according to a new study conducted by researchers at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts.

One of the most overlooked minerals, magnesium is essential for good health, as its versatility meets a variety of the body's needs. It's responsible for over 300 different chemical reactions, including keeping your energy levels up, assisting with relaxation, providing optimal heart health and digesting proteins, carbs and fats.

Led by Adela Hruby, Ph.D., new research found that healthy people with the highest magnesium intake were 37 percent less likely to develop high blood sugar or excess circulating insulin, a precursor for diabetes.

Patients exhibiting early signs of diabetes benefited significantly from adequate magnesium consumption. Those who consumed the most magnesium were 32 percent less likely to develop diabetes compared with their counterparts who incorporated very little of the mineral into their diet.

Consuming plenty of whole grains, fish, veggies, dark chocolate, nuts and seeds can help lower your risk of developing diabetes

Scientist Believes Psychedelic Plant Medicine Ayahuasca Can Cure Cancer

Ayahuasca is an ancient psychedelic plant medicine that has been used by shamans in South America for centuries. It is a brew that is made by boiling the leaves and vines of specific plants from the amazonian jungle. Today, this plant has been starting to make its way into Western culture and is being used to treat people with a variety of ailments that include depression and addiction. More recently the plant medicine is being studied as a potential treatment to fight cancer. Even though in the United States Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)  is highly illegal and is considered as a Schedule I drug by the U.S. Controlled Substances Act and the International Convention on Psychotropic Substances.
Eduardo E. Schenberg, who works for the Federal University of Sao Paulo, believes that the healing powers that come from ayahuasca usage deserve some attention from the scientific community, especially when it comes to cancer.
“There is enough available evidence that ayahuasca’s active principles, especially DMT (N-dimethyltryptamine) and harmine, have positive effects in some cell cultures used to study cancer, and in biochemical processes important in cancer treatment, both in vitro and in vivo, therefore the few available reports of people benefiting from ayahuasca in their cancer treatment experiences should be taken seriously, and the hypothesis presented here, fully testable by rigorous scientific experimentation, helps to understand the available cases paving the way for new experiments.” Schenburg wrote in an article that was published in Sage Open Medicine.
Unfortunately documented sources for this claim are very rare. There have been a few scientific studies done, but not enough to show conclusive evidence.  Most of these claims are coming from word of mouth, which obviously isn’t enough to say that it is an effective cure, but it is definitely enough to consider. More research definitely needs to be done on the subject.  Schenburg also wrote:
In summary, it is hypothesized that the combined actions of β-carbolines and DMT present in ayahuasca may diminish tumor blood supply, activate apoptotic pathways, diminish cell proliferation, and change the energetic metabolic imbalance of cancer cells, which is known as the Warburg Effect. Therefore, ayahuasca may act on cancer hallmarks such as angiogenesis, apoptosis, and cell metabolism.
Depending on how you look at this, it might be easy to understand how taking ayahuasca could assist with the treatment of curing cancer. Ayahuasca helps its users to let go and release baggage in their lives that they have been holding onto for a long time, these various experiences could have caused stress in their lives. It is pretty common knowledge nowadays that stress is a contributing factor to many different ailments, so if the ayahuasca can assist these people of ridding of depression and stress, there is a possibility that the cancer will go away along with it.  Having done ayahuasca myself, I can safely say that this medicinal plant does wonders for your mental health, and brings about new clarity and a more peaceful state of mind.

Just Because You Bought Your Granola Bar at Whole Foods Doesn't Mean It's Better for You

It’s been nearly a hundred years since psychologists started talking about the “halo effect”: a cognitive bias whereby we assume that if a person has one positive attribute, they must have others. We infer that attractive people, for example, are also trustworthy, intelligent, and kind. Much of the research on the halo effect focused on how perception of attractiveness impacted perception of other traits, but psychologists are still finding new manifestations of the halo effect; the latest research focuses on how it affects our judgments about food. If an item is labeled “low-fat” or “low-sodium,” for instance, we assume it has fewer calories.

For a new paper in the Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, a team of researchers led by John Pedoza, an associate professor of marketing at the University of Kentucky, found that we assume that food made by a socially conscious company is also healthy. Pedoza and colleagues asked 144 students to evaluate a new brand of granola bar after reading a fictitious newspaper article about the company behind the product. Half the participants read an article describing a company that had won awards for its corporate social responsibility; the other half read about a company whose charitable activities were more modest. (This company had only recently begun donating to a charity.) The newspaper articles also portrayed the companies as having either selfish or altruistic motives for their charitable activities: “selfish” managers admitted that they were hoping their philanthropy would enhance their company’s reputation; “altruistic” managers were motivated primarily by a desire to help the community.

Boost your brain power with these 3 superfoods

One of the first things people notice when feeling tired or sleep deprived is a lack of mental clarity. Focus becomes hampered, brain fog sets in, and it's a fight to get anything done that requires any cognitive capacity.

Although this is likely a result of many different factors, there are some foods you can consider to get you through the short term that may help boost your brainpower, without sacrificing your energy long term (like coffee). Combining these 3 superfoods together could do just that.

Maca has been cultivated and grown high in the Andes for thousands of years. This hard crop grows where no other cultivated crop can survive, flourishing at altitudes of 9,000 to 14,000 feet in extreme climate of cold winds and strong sunlight.

Maca's ability to increase one's mental capacity is due to the fact that it works directly on the hypothalamus and pituitary glands. It also has the healing power to rejuvenate the adrenal glands, which helps us cope with stressful situations.

Top 6 Alkaline Foods To Eat Everyday For Vibrant Health

Unfortunately the typical American diet consists largely of toxic and acid-forming foods like refined grains, processed sugars, artificial sweeteners, pasteurized juices, fried foods, meat and dairy -the list goes on. Combine all of this food with a lack of sleep, stress and pharmaceutical drugs to top it all off and its no wonder that people are being diagnosed with various diseases at an alarming rate.

It is important to maintain a proper pH balance. All foods in nature contain both acid and alkaline-forming elements and according to the Conscious Living Center, balance can be either achieved or prevented as a direct result from the food that we are eating. When we eat too many acidic foods it can lead to major health complications, such as “acidosis” this is a common diagnosis in people with diabetes. When nutrients required to maintain this slightly alkaline state cannot be obtained from the foods that we are eating, the body will then draw from its own stores, from the bones or other vital tissues, this damages the body’s ability to repair itself and detoxify heavy metals.

Again, the ultimate goal is balance. Although it is important to maintain this slightly alkaline state, eating too many or primarily alkaline foods only can have its own set of complications; although the risk of this happening is a lot less likely than the risk of the body becoming too acidic. Here are the top 6 alkaline foods to incorporate into your diet daily.

1. Lemons

Most people assume that lemons are an acidic fruit, maybe it is because of the sour taste, or the citric acid, but in actuality lemons are very alkaline. Lemons have a pH level of 9.0, they actually produce an alkaline ash after digestion. Lemons are also rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and electrolytes. They couldn’t be easier to add to your daily intake, try squeezing a lemon into your water throughout the day or spritzing the juice over your salad at lunch.

2. Apples

Apples have a pH level of 8.0 and contain a variety of minerals, vitamins and phytochemicals, which help to keep the body and immune system working optimally. Apples also contain enzymes, which assist in maintaining the body’s natural hormonal balance. I think you know how to eat an apple, but if you don’t they can be eaten raw, or even in a pie or a crumble!

3 Great Reasons To Filter Fluoride Out Of Your Drinking Water

Woman Drinking Glass of Water

Fluoride has been added to  drinking water supplies all over the world for decades, but that’s all changing as several countries and communities around the world have completely removed and banned the practice of water fluoridation.

It’s quite remarkable how much we can find out when we begin to question the world around us, take a break from our own lives and look at the bigger picture. Fluoride is a great example (out of many) of how the consciousness of the planet is shifting. There is always a sharp resistance to new information that renders the old information obsolete. In today’s world it’s important to have an open mind and accept as well as entertain facts that sharply disagree with your current belief systems.

1. The Fluoride Used In Drinking Water Is Hydrofluorosilicic Acid

The substance added to our drinking water is  hydrofluorosilicic acid, a toxic industrial waste by-product that governments have been adding to our drinking water for over sixty years. This toxic waste substance is created from the production processes of aluminum, fertilizer, steel and nuclear industries.

For example, in the Phosphate Mining & Production Industry, much of the hydrofluorosilicic acid occurs from strip-mined rock. The rock is broken up, placed in giant vats where sulfuric acid is also added to get rid of whatever phosphate (and other contaminants) are in the rock. While the phosphate is extracted, the contaminants used to be released into the atmosphere. This was creating more pollution, and killing animal and plant life.

Again, just to reiterate, the stuff added to our drinking water is industrial toxic waste.

The aluminum, fertilizer, steel and nuclear industries all have environmental regulations they must follow. These regulations were put in place where pollution control devices were set up in order to capture the contaminants, like arsenic, lead, mercury, silicofluoride and more. Included in the pollution control device is hydrofluorosilicic acid (added to our drinking water), so toxic that one needs to wear a full body suit and mask to be around it. These contaminants are then taken out of the chimneys (scrubbed off with the acid) and stored in “open-air cooling lakes,” which are further exposed to airborne contaminants.

Blood Type Could Determine One's Personality

Your blood group type can reveal your personality; Bright and dark aspects of your personality. Let’s have a look that what blood types possess which kind of qualities for any person and which blood type is compatible to another.

Blood Type O

Type O’s are outgoing, and very social. They are initiators, although they don’t always finish what they start. Creative and popular, they love to be the center of attention and appear very self confident.

Blood Type A

While outwardly calm, they have such high standards (perfectionists) that they tend to be balls of nerves on the inside. Type A’s are the most artistic of the blood groups. They can be shy, are conscientious, trustworthy, and sensitive.

Blood Type B

Goal oriented and strong minded, type B’s will start a task and continue it until completed, and completed well. Type B’s are the individualists of the blood group categories and find their own way in life.

Toxins Harm Your Energy Field

The human body is an amazing biological quantum “machine” that has incredible potential. When we look at the human body from the outside, we see a beautiful biological form made of flesh. However, beneath the flesh there are many different layers of tissues.

What many of us don’t understand about the human body is that it is also made of energy fields and energy structures, including but not limited to the chakras, the meridians, and the aura.

The idea of the existence of chakras, meridians, and auras was once laughed at by conventional western scientists, but due to new advancements in subtle energy detection technology, many scientists are starting to admit that these energy systems exist.

At the fundamental levels, the human body is a hologram made of condensed light or energy. If this were true, how come we don’t see our body as light?

World-first evidence suggests that meditation alters cancer survivors’ cells

For the first time, scientists have found clear biological evidence that meditation and support groups can affect us on a cellular level.

We’re often told that being happy, meditating and mindfulness can benefit our health. We all have that one friend of a friend who says they cured their terminal illness by quitting their job and taking up surfing - but until now there’s been very little scientific evidence to back up these claims.

Now researchers in Canada have found the first evidence to suggest that support groups that encourage meditation and yoga can actually alter the cellular activity of cancer survivors.

Their study, which was published in the journal Cancer last week, is one of the first to suggest that a mind-body connection really does exist.

The team found that the telomeres - the protein caps at the end of our chromosomes that determine how quickly a cell ages - stayed the same length in cancer survivors who meditated or took part in support groups over a three-month period.

On the other hand, the telomeres of cancer survivors who didn’t participate in these groups shortened during the three-month study.

Scientists still don’t know for sure whether telomeres are involved in regulating disease, but there is early evidence that suggests shortened telomeres are associated with the likelihood of surviving several diseases, including breast cancer, as well as cellular ageing. And longer telomeres are generally thought to help protect us from disease.

"We already know that psychosocial interventions like mindfulness meditation will help you feel better mentally, but now for the first time we have evidence that they can also influence key aspects of your biology," said Linda E. Carlson, a psychosocial research and the lead investigator at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, in a press release. She conducted the study alongside scientists from the University of Calgary.

Howard Straus | Gerson Therapy: The All-Natural Solution for Cancer and Chronic Disease

Thank you for helping us declassify the secrets to health and longevity and focus on mind, body and spirit. ~ Mel Fabregas.

S y n o p s i s

Dr. Max Gerson was a German dietary therapy pioneer who developed the now-famous Gerson Therapy for cancer and other chronic diseases. Gerson started his departure from conventional medicine by curing his own migraine headaches with a diet of his own devising, and discovered by accident that it also healed skin tuberculosis. Further clinical experiments showed that the holistic, diet-based therapy was effective against virtually all chronic and degenerative diseases, including advanced cancer.

Gerson's lifelong friend, Nobel Laureate Albert Schweitzer, called Gerson "one of the most eminent medical geniuses to ever walk among us."

Despite unrelenting attacks by chemical, drug and surgically oriented colleagues and the pharmaceutical industry, and while on the run from Hitler's Holocaust, Gerson continued to refine his therapy and treat patients successfully. He eventually settled in the United States, where the constant attacks continued.

When Gerson was invited to speak to the Pepper-Neely Congressional Subcommittee, and brought with him five cured patients declared "terminal" by other oncologists, his testimony was expunged from the Congressional Record!

After he published his own book, A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases, he fell ill and died under mysterious circumstances, later revealed to have been linked to arsenic poisoning.

In the half century since his death, Gerson's empirical principles have been repeatedly and uniformly confirmed by the more precise analytical tools available to modern medical and chemical research. He is still considered a "quack" by the money-oriented pharmaceutical, agricultural, chemical and cancer industries, who have no interest in prevention or cure of the dread diseases Gerson healed.

In 2005 Gerson was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the International Society of Orthomolecular Medicine, co-founded by double Nobel Laureate Dr. Linus Pauling and orthomolecular pioneer Dr. Abram Hoffer.

Dr. Gerson's story spans World War I, World War II, the Holocaust and the rise of allopathic, drug-oriented medicine. It is instructive to see what happens to a true healer in a medical industry that has no interest in healing.

The One Bacteria That Causes Tooth Decay, Acne, Tuberculosis and Pneumonia Can Be Killed By This One Seed

Gram positive bacteria, which cause tooth decay, acne, tuberculosis, Streptococcus pneumoniae and leprosy are all killed by anacardic chemicals present in cashew nuts which are actually seeds.

Cashew nuts are actually the kidney-shaped seeds that adhere to the bottom of the cashew apple, the fruit of the cashew tree, which is native to the coastal areas of northeastern Brazil.

You have probably noticed that cashews in the shell are not available in stores. This is because these nuts are always sold pre-shelled since the interior of their shells contains a caustic resin, known as cashew balm, which must be carefully removed before they are fit for consumption. This caustic resin is actually used in industry to make varnishes and insecticides. Today, the leading commercial producers of cashews are India, Brazil, Mozambique, Tanzania and Nigeria.

Cashews are an excellent source of copper, and a good source of phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, and zinc.

Not only do cashews have a lower fat content than most other nuts, approximately 82% of their fat is unsaturated fatty acids, plus about 66% of this unsaturated fatty acid content are heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, similar to those found in olive oil. Studies of diabetic patients show that monounsaturated fat, when added to a low-fat diet, can help to reduce high triglyceride levels. Triglycerides are a form in which fats are carried in the blood, and high triglyceride levels are associated with an increased risk for heart disease, so ensuring you have some monounsaturated fats in your diet by enjoying cashews is a good idea, especially for persons with diabetes.

GROSS: 14 Fast Food & Restaurant Employees Confess The One Item You Should Never Order

Don’t read this if you are currently eating fast food!  Care of Collective Evolution:  People all over the world are starting to be more conscious about the food that they eat. Fast food restaurants are full of food that is literally designed to turn people into addicts. They are often littered with and chemically altered for this purpose alone, despite a number of these foods being proven to be detrimental to human health. Ultimately we do have a choice, but it’s also confusing why these foods even exist given how bad and toxic most of them are, and how they promote so many different diseases. Just think about the intent behind their existence. Do you really think that it is to feed people?

I don’t usually post articles that aren’t completely originally written, but I think this is worthwhile posting, since in my opinion anything that might potentially draw people away from these foods is worthwhile sharing. You never really know with restaurants, some horrible things go on behind the scenes and the food we are served isn’t always what we really think it is.

The following question was posted to Reddit: What should we not order at your restaurant? Why not?

This Fruit is 500% More Effective Than Cough Syrup

This Fruit is 500% More Effective Than Cough SyrupThe exotic pineapple was brought to Europe from South America in the times of Christopher Columbus. It was originally a sign of prestige and featured only in lavish banquets. Nowadays, pineapples can be easily acquired and they are popular around the world for their sweet and fresh taste, and also for their health benefits.

In Central and South America, where this fruit is believed to originate from, it has been known for centuries for its positive effects on digestion and its anti-inflammatory properties.

The anti-inflammatory effect is attributed to the action of bromelain, which is an enzyme and a powerful antioxidant. Many studies to date looked at bromelain’s functions. It has been suggested that it alleviates joint pain, arthritis, reduces inflammation, inhibits tumor growth and shortens recovery time after surgeries.

Bromelain is one of the most popular supplements in Germany, where it has been recognized for its potential in reducing inflammation and swelling of the nose and sinuses, most commonly after a surgery or injury. Bromelain kills bacteria and fights infections.  You can read more about the healing benefits of pineapple and how to use it to treat many ailments in my post on how to use pineapple as a medicine.

Pineapple is also rich in vitamin C. One cup of pure juice contains 50% of your recommended daily intake. If you eat fresh pineapple chunks, one cup will provide you with 131% of your vitamin C needs for the day. Vitamin C is an important vitamin and an antioxidant. It keeps your body healthy and strong by maintaining the bones, muscles and blood vessels.

Pineapple contains some other important nutrients too, including vitamin A, thiamin, riboflavin, vitamin B-6, folate, pantothenic acid, magnesium, manganese and potassium. It is an amazing source of essential vitamins and minerals.

When it comes to treating persistent cough and cold, pineapple juice can soothe a sore throat and helps to cough out all the stubborn mucus. One study that compared over-the-counter cough syrup and pineapple extract showed that pineapple was five times more effective. Patients recovered 4.8 times quicker when taking the natural pineapple remedy, and had an overall improvement in their cold symptoms.

Effective apple cider vinegar home remedies

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has been touted as great all-around remedy that boosts overall health and appearance, making it an ideal household staple. It helps balance the body's system so that optimal health is reflected both by internal and outward improvements; everything from sunburn relief to a healthier scalp can be achieved with apple cider vinegar.

So effective is ACV that even back in 5000 B.C. the Babylonians used it as a tonic.(1) Likewise, it was used by Samurai warriors in Japan and in ancient Egypt, proving that people have enjoyed its healing abilities through time.

A Dr. Oz episode recently highlighted three homemade uses for ACV that viewers personally use and say is very effective.

Top uses for apple cider vinegar

Healthy scalp

One viewer explained that she uses a homemade ACV concoction to cleanse her scalp, saying that it's a natural alternative that helps her fight dandruff. Dr. Oz says that the acidity of apple cider vinegar kills off fungi that can lead to dandruff, and that it's not surprising that many people turn to such a remedy to keep their scalp in good condition.(2)

To make, simply mix 1/4 cup of water with 1/4 cup of ACV, put in a spray bottle and spray in parted sections of hair on the scalp. Do this twice weekly and leave in for about 15 minutes each time, then rinse.(2)

Furthermore, it'll make hair shine; a mix of about 1 cup of water and 1/2 tablespoon of ACV used as a rinse after shampooing can liven up dull hair.(3)

Soothes sore throats

Another viewer says that she drinks a mixture of 1 teaspoon of ACV, 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 3 tablespoons of honey with warm water to soothe a sore throat. This "triple threat" works wonders for sore throats according to Dr. Oz, who says that both the vinegar and the honey have antibacterial properties, while a chemical in cayenne pepper called capsaicin helps eliminate pain.

Top 3 safest ways to get rid of a cold or flu quickly

As the winter season approaches in North America, our immune system becomes more taxed with cooler weather and less immune supporting elements like the warm sun on our skin. As a result, the cough and cold season heats up and people start stocking their cupboards with various over the counter solutions.

Instead of adopting manmade concoctions this season, how about using these 3 natural ways to help get rid of cold and flu?

Consume antiviral and antibacterial foods

To help clean up a cold or flu in tandem with your immune system, the first thing you want to consider is removing the actual infection itself. This can be accomplished in a number of ways, but some of the easiest solutions are using strong antiviral and antibacterial foods and herbs.

Strong antiviral foods and herbs to consider include:
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Cranberry
  • Cinnamon
  • Raw honey
  • Echinacea
  • Pau D'Arco
  • Oregano oil

Simple Trick to Lose Weight: Identifying & Eliminate Hidden Sugars in Your Diet

Not all sugars are created equal, and they’re hidden in most of today’s processed foods. Nutritionist, fitness trainer, and author JJ Virgin has written a new book that helps open your eyes to the way sugars are hidden.

The book also provides practical tips on how to wean yourself from this pernicious ingredient that will decimate your health.

In The Sugar Impact Diet: Drop 7 Sugars to Lose Up to 10 Pounds in Just 2 Weeks, she tackles the confusion surrounding sugar. Many health-conscious people are still under the mistaken belief that as long as the sugar is all-natural, it’s fine to eat.

Not so. Agave, natural fruit juice, raw cane sugar, and any number of other natural sugars will still wreak havoc on your health.

“Sugar is really public enemy number one,” she says. “That’s why I chose to focus on it. I don’t think added sugar is really the problem; I think it’s what’s in a lot of our food that we don’t recognize [as sugar].

“Whether it’s having apple juice (which is worse for you than a soda), or having a yogurt sweetened with fruit juice concentrate, or whether you’re just thinking that fruits are free for all, these are all creating problems.

“I wanted to create a structured program that could help someone break free of those sugar cravings, drop the weight forever, and then let them go back and [do a food] challenge... in order to connect the dots between what happens when they drink one of those big fruit smoothies that are supposed to be so healthy.”

To End Sugar Cravings, Your Body Needs to Burn Fat as Its Primary Fuel

As JJ notes, whether the sugar comes in the form of a muffin, a fruit juice-sweetened yogurt, or a smoothie, it’s all the same thing to your body. “Food is information,” she says. And she’s right.

Once you break free from your body’s constant need for yet another sugar fix (remember, sugar is more addictive than cocaine!), you’ll experience great levels of newfound energy and clarity of mind. But in order to get there, you need to retrain your body to burn fat as its primary form of fuel instead of sugar.
